Matthew Ronay (B. 1976, Louisville, Kentucky) studied at the Maryland Institute College of Art before earning his Masters in Fine Arts from Yale University in 2000. In fall of 2022, his work will be the subject of a solo presentation at the Nasher Sculpture Center, Dallas, with a new monographic catalogue to be published on the occasion. Additional recent solo exhibitions include Perrotin, Shanghai (2020); Casey Kaplan, New York (2019); Nils Staerk, Copenhagen (2019). In 2016, Ronay held exhibitions simultaneously at the Blaffer Art Museum, Houston, Texas and the PĂ©rez Art Museum, Miami, Florida, accompanied by a fully-illustrated exhibition catalogue. The artist has exhibited extensively at other major institutions worldwide including: Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Bentonville, Arkansas (2018); Kunsthalle Lingen, Germany (2014); University of Louisville, Kentucky (2013); Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft, Louisville (2013); Sculpture Center, New York (2012); Artspace, San Antonio (2010); Astrup Fearnley Museum for Modern Art, Oslo (2008); ARoS Kunstmuseum, Arhus, Denmark 92008); Parasol Unit Foundation for Contemporary Art, London (2006); Serpentine Gallery, London (2005) and Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College, Ananndale-on-Huson, New York (2005). Ronay participated in the 2013 Lyon Biennale, curated by Gunnar Kvaran, and the 2004 Whitney Biennale. He lives and works in New York.
