Professor, Co-Director of MFA Program
Steve Locke’s work spans painting, drawing, sculpture, and installation. His practice critically engages with the Western canon to muse on the connections between desire, identity, and violence. Throughout his artistic career, Locke’s work has questioned how we ascribe meaning to portraiture.Locke was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and lives and works in the Hudson Valley, NY with his dog, George.
